Today’s Islamic date in Pakistan

The Islamic, or Hijri, calendar follows lunar months. The date above updates automatically using Pakistan Standard Time and advances to the next Islamic day at the selected city’s calculated sunset. Before sunset, its date corresponds to the daytime Hijri label in the monthly calendar. After sunset, the main date moves forward while the Gregorian date remains unchanged until midnight.

The date’s source is shown beside it. A mathematical Hijri calendar can differ from Pakistan’s local moon-sighting announcement. When a verified Pakistan month-start notice is configured, the tool aligns dates within that notice’s coverage and links to its source. Outside that coverage, it clearly returns to a calculated date. Future Islamic dates remain provisional.

Prayer times for major cities of Pakistan

Select Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Quetta, Faisalabad, Multan, Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur, Nawabshah, Mirpur Khas, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Abbottabad, Muzaffarabad or Gilgit. Each timetable uses a fixed location for the selected city and displays times in PKT.

The page shows Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha, plus sunrise as a reference. The next-prayer countdown follows the selected calculation; after the day’s Isha start, it points to the next day’s Fajr. These are calculated prayer-start times. Your local mosque’s jamaat and Friday congregation schedule can be different.

Choose the calculation that you follow

The default is the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi method with Hanafi Asr. You can choose the same Karachi method with Standard Asr, or the Jafari calculation from the Leva Institute, Qum. Standard Asr is a timing option; changing it is not the same as switching to the Jafari calculation. Confirm the appropriate method with the mosque or religious authority you follow.

Use the monthly Islamic calendar and timetable

  1. Choose your city and calculation method. Use “Remember” if you want this device to keep those preferences.
  2. Browse a Gregorian month. The large number in each calendar cell is the Gregorian day; the smaller label is the daytime Hijri day and month.
  3. Select a day for its Hijri date and prayer times. The “Today” date and next-prayer panel continue to refer to the current day.
  4. Download the monthly CSV for a spreadsheet, print the timetable, or copy a link that opens your selected city and method.

Frequently asked questions

Why can Pakistan’s Islamic date differ from an online calendar?

A calculated calendar uses a chosen mathematical or calendar convention. Pakistan’s announced month start depends on its local moon-sighting decision. This page identifies which basis it is using, and links any configured Pakistan alignment to the month-start notice. A calculated date is not presented as an official announcement.

Why do prayer times vary between cities and websites?

Prayer calculations depend on location, date, calculation angles and the Asr convention. A mosque may also apply local adjustments or publish a later congregation time. Select the correct city and method, then compare with the timetable of the mosque you follow.

Does the calendar confirm the date of Ramadan or Eid?

Future calendar dates are estimates. Ramadan, Eid and other local month-based dates need the relevant Pakistan announcement. Use the source label to distinguish a calculated date from a date covered by a verified month-start alignment.

Do I need to share my GPS location?

No. Choose a city from the list. Remembering a city and method is optional and uses this device’s browser storage. The tool does not request GPS access, create a visitor account or store prayer preferences in a personal profile.

What happens if the calendar service is unavailable?

The WordPress tool can use a labelled, dated cached calendar for the same city, method and month. If that calendar is unavailable, it shows an error and a refresh option. It does not substitute a different day’s prayer timetable and call it today.
