Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is back on track with its flight operations, having secured the necessary funds for fuel purchase, according to the national flag carrier’s spokesperson. On the previous day, PIA successfully operated 52 flights on various routes, though two international flights, specifically Islamabad to Jeddah and Lahore to Kuala Lumpur, experienced delays of over an hour.
For the upcoming Friday, PIA has scheduled 48 flights, encompassing both domestic and international routes. Notably, 32 flights will operate on international routes, while the remaining will service domestic destinations. The primary focus of PIA remains to ensure the uninterrupted operation of key international routes, including Toronto, Saudi Arabia, Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur, and Dubai. Concurrently, efforts are underway to bring domestic routes back to their normal schedules.
However, in contrast to PIA’s claims, local media outlets have reported the cancellation of over a dozen domestic and international flights on Friday. This includes the cancellation of 14 flights to and from Karachi. It is worth noting that private airlines recently increased their domestic fares following PIA flight delays and cancellations. PIA is striving to regain its passengers’ trust by maintaining a reliable flight schedule and resolving any operational challenges.
