As the General Elections 2024 draw near, the Sindh government has taken proactive measures by announcing a four-day holiday for all educational institutions in the province. The holiday period spans from the 6th to the 9th of February and covers public, private, and semi-private educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities.
This decision, approved by Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh, Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar, aims to facilitate the electoral process and ensure the safety and convenience of students and educational staff. In addition to the election-related holidays, a public holiday has been declared on February 5th, observed throughout the province as “Kashmir Solidarity Day.”
This move is a symbolic gesture expressing solidarity with the people of Kashmir on both sides of the Line of Control and worldwide. The comprehensive holiday plan extends across Pakistan, with educational institutions observing a total of eight holidays from February 4th to 12th.
This period includes the observance of Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5th and the closure of educational institutions from February 6th to 10th for the General Elections. Following this period, schools, colleges, and universities are scheduled to reopen on February 12th, concluding the eight-day holiday period.
