Sania Mirza, the Indian tennis legend, took a huge leap forward in her personal life as she got the name of ex-husband Shoaib Malik removed from her Dubai villa and replaced it with that of her son Azhan. The move is to get ready to move into a newly constructed villa in Dubai and herald a new beginning in her life after the divorce.

A new beginning as Sania Mirza removes Shoaib Malik’s name from their Dubai’s villa

Mirza, who has been staying in Dubai with her six-year-old son Azhan, said that now her child is her first priority and closest friend. Her new villa is built, and she is giving it final touches before she and Azhan shift there. The new villa is reportedly designed by UAE-based business tycoon Adeeb Sajan, and there have been rumors that the two are romantically involved. However, Mirza hasn’t confirmed any personal relationship with Sajan.

This move follows her divorce from former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik in 2024, ending their 14-year marriage. The couple, who tied the knot in 2010, welcomed their son Azhan in 2017.

Life Beyond Tennis

Since retiring from professional tennis in 2023, Mirza has remained active in the sport through her tennis academies in Dubai and Hyderabad. She has also ventured into sports analysis, recently covering the 2025 Australian Open for Sony Sports Network. Her six Grand Slam titles and trailblazing career continue to inspire aspiring athletes worldwide.

Shoaib Malik’s New Chapter

Whereas, Shoaib Malik has seen better days with the actor Sana Javed whom he got hitched to in 2023. They marked their anniversary recently and posted sweet messages on Instagram. Shoaib uploaded a reel where he put it up to Ed Sheeran’s Perfect. On the other hand, Sana uploaded a carousel of her wedding pictures. Even though this could be considered a love-filled spree, fans cannot help but rip him apart as he formerly dated Mirza.

For Mirza, the center still remains between her son and her profession. She has symbolically closed one chapter by replacing Shoaib’s name with Azhan’s at her residence. As Mirza settles into her new home, she still balances her lives as a mother, sports analyst, and tennis mentor, proving that life after divorce and retirement is not complete either.
