Gold prices in Pakistan extended their downward trend on Friday, providing some relief to buyers as domestic bullion rates dropped significantly. The latest decline follows continued weakness in international gold markets, which has influenced local pricing across the country.
According to the latest figures released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association, the price of one tola of gold fell by Rs. 4,600, bringing the new rate down to Rs. 427,436. The decrease marks another notable adjustment in the local precious metals market after recent fluctuations driven by global economic conditions.
The price of 10 grams of gold also registered a considerable decline. It dropped by Rs. 3,944, settling at Rs. 366,467, reflecting the same downward momentum witnessed in the international bullion market.
Gold prices in Pakistan are closely linked to international market trends. Whenever global gold rates move up or down, local prices usually follow after accounting for the exchange rate between the Pakistani rupee and the US dollar, along with applicable taxes and market premiums.
The latest reduction comes as international gold prices continued to ease, with investors closely monitoring economic indicators, central bank policies, inflation expectations, and interest rate outlooks. A stronger US dollar and changing expectations regarding monetary policy often put pressure on gold prices worldwide, as the precious metal becomes relatively more expensive for foreign investors.
For consumers in Pakistan, lower gold prices may create favorable buying opportunities, particularly for families planning wedding purchases or individuals looking to invest in physical gold. Jewellers often experience increased customer interest whenever prices witness a noticeable correction after a period of sustained highs.
Despite the recent decline, market analysts note that gold remains one of the preferred safe-haven assets during periods of economic uncertainty. Investors continue to monitor global developments, geopolitical tensions, inflation trends, and central bank decisions, all of which can quickly influence bullion prices.
Industry experts advise buyers and investors to keep an eye on daily market updates, as gold prices can change rapidly based on movements in international markets and currency fluctuations. Even modest shifts in global sentiment can translate into significant changes in Pakistan’s domestic gold rates.
The precious metals market has remained highly volatile in recent months, with prices reacting to a combination of global economic data, investor sentiment, and financial market developments. As a result, both traders and consumers are expected to remain cautious while watching for the next direction in gold prices.
With Friday’s latest decline, Pakistan’s gold market enters the weekend on a softer note, giving prospective buyers an opportunity to purchase the precious metal at lower rates compared to previous sessions.
