A Karachi city court has issued arrest warrants for prominent social media influencer Sahil Adeem, as reported by ARY News. The court’s decision came after Adeem allegedly used foul language against the state, ordering his appearance on September 24.
The arrest warrants follow a resolution submitted to the Sindh Assembly Secretariat condemning Adeem’s derogatory remarks about women during a recent appearance on a private television channel. The resolution, introduced by PPP lawmaker Marvi Faseeh, criticized Adeem for his statement that “95% of women in the country are ‘jahil’ (ignorant).” His comments were seen as a violation of religious, social, and legal values, sparking widespread outrage, especially among women.
Adeem faced severe backlash, with lawyer Jibran Nasir and others criticizing his handling of the debate. The resolution called for strict legal action, arguing that Adeem’s remarks undermined the dignity of women and offended figures like Marvi Faseeh within the Sindh Assembly.
The case continues to unfold as Adeem is expected to respond to the legal charges against him later this month.
