Babar Azam, the captain of the national cricket team, claimed the new record of being the fastest Asian batsman to complete 11,000 runs in international cricket.

The 27-year-old captain Babar Azam crossed the milestone in his 251st innings, surpassing former Indian captain Virat Kohli, who took 261 innings to reach the feat.

Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar achieved this feat in 262 innings while Javed Miandad achieved this milestone in 266 innings.

Babar Azam scored 55 runs off 40 balls against Bangladesh in the sixth match of the ongoing tri-series in Christchurch.

The captain of the national team is the 11th Pakistani batsman to complete 11,000 runs in international cricket.

He has scored 3 thousand 122 runs in 75 innings of 42 Tests, 4 thousand 664 runs in 90 innings of 92 ODIs and 3 thousand 216 runs in 86 innings of 91 T20 matches.
