The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the IPL 2025 schedule, which will start on March 22 with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The final will also be played at Eden Gardens on May 25, the venue’s first final since 2015. Kolkata will also stage Qualifier 2 on May 23, while the other two playoffs—Qualifier 1 on May 20 and the Eliminator on May 21—will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, home of last year’s runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The tournament will cover 74 games over 65 days with 12 double-headers. IPL 2025 Day 2 guarantees a blockbuster Sunday (March 23) with a double-header: Rajasthan Royals will play Sunrisers Hyderabad in the afternoon, while the eagerly awaited IPL El-Clasico between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) will be at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

IPL 2025 Schedule for All Teams

13 stadiums will be used to stage the matches. They are the regular home bases of all 10 IPL teams plus three others: Guwahati (the second home of Rajasthan Royals), Visakhapatnam (Delhi Capitals’ second home), and Dharamsala (Punjab Kings’ second venue). Dharamsala will host three games at the breathtaking Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, while Guwahati and Visakhapatnam will host two matches each.

Teams are split into two groups for the season. Group A includes Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Chennai Super Kings, and Punjab Kings. Group B includes Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, and Lucknow Super Giants. Teams play each team in their group twice and choose opponents from the other group twice, guaranteeing marquee clashes like CSK vs. MI to be played twice in the season.

IPL 2025 is going to be a thrilling season, with Kolkata’s Eden Gardens at the epicentre of the tournament’s grandest fixtures, legendary rivalry clashes, and new challenges at new grounds.
