This year marks the 10th anniversary of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The corridor has played a vital role in promoting trade between both countries and have created more than 155,000 local employment opportunities, as mentioned by China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
An NDRC official said, “Multiple highway construction programmes are progressing on schedule. Power plants that have entered commercial operation provide nearly one-third of Pakistan’s electricity requirement, having changed the situation of power shortage.”
They also added that by the end of 2022, CPEC created more than 155,000 jobs.
