Revolutionizing CNIC Issuance with Home Delivery
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is set to launch its innovative ‘Biker Service’ in Sindh, aiming to streamline the process of obtaining or renewing Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs). This service allows citizens to complete their applications and receive their CNICs without leaving their homes.
Key Features of the Biker Service
- Online Application Process: Applicants can initiate their CNIC requests through NADRA’s online portal, selecting the ‘Biker Service’ for home delivery.
- Home-Based Biometric Verification: Trained NADRA representatives will visit applicants’ residences to collect necessary biometric data, including fingerprints and photographs.
- Inclusive Approach: To cater to female applicants, the service employs women bikers, ensuring cultural sensitivities are respected.
Implementation Timeline
Following its successful pilot in Islamabad, the ‘Biker Service’ is scheduled to commence in Karachi by the end of December 2024, with plans to expand across all districts of Sindh subsequently.
Service Charges
The convenience of the ‘Biker Service’ comes with an additional fee of Rs1,200 over the standard CNIC processing charges.
Enhancing Public Facilitation
This initiative is part of NADRA’s broader strategy to reduce congestion at registration centers and provide hassle-free services to the public. By bringing services directly to citizens’ doorsteps, NADRA aims to improve accessibility and efficiency in the CNIC issuance process.
