In an attempt to maintain the beauty of buildings and minimize visual pollution, the local Saudi government has decided to impose a fine of SR 200 to SR 1,000 (up to RS 80,000). The fines are introduced to bar citizens from hanging of objectionable clothes on balconies.

According to the details, residents cannot hang hangers and other things that look unappealing and visually damage the outlook of a building.

The objective of this regulation is to maintain the aesthetic appeal of the city while maintaining the infrastructure of its buildings.
