It all started when a Twitter user shared an image of a lizard found in cake he allegedly bought from Layer’s Bakeshop, Faisalabad.

Soon after another Tweep shared his worst experience with the bakery, claiming he too found the reptile in his Layer’s Bakeshop cake but all this happened with him in Islamabad. He even tagged the authorities to take an action.

Later on, the social media was abuzz with rumours that several branches of Layer’s Bakeshop have been sealed in Punjab. However, we could not verify this news yet.

After the tweets became viral, the renowned bakery in Punjab came forward and threatened to take legal action against anyone who is trying to “tarnish” their image.

The bakeshop has negated all these accusations and said their “factory adheres to the highest standards of cleanliness.”

The bakery took to Instagram and posted, “Dear Valued Customers, we wanted to personally reach out to address recent false allegations circulating about Layers. We find ourselves in an unfortunate situation where our brand, Layers, has been subject to baseless allegations that aim to tarnish our hard-earned reputation.”

It further said, “We take immense pride in the quality and hygiene of our products. Our factory adheres to the highest standards of cleanliness. It is technically impossible for foreign objects, such as the alleged lizard, to be found in our baked goods.”

It also mentioned, “We reserve the right to take legal action against those involved in defamation of our brand according to the Cybercrime Laws of Pakistan. Your trust means the world to us, and we want to reassure you that we are fully committed to delivering the best products possible.”

The bakery also thanked its customers and said, “Thank you for your unwavering support. If you have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly. With heartfelt appreciation,”

Even the social media celebrity Adnan Zafar, aka Ken Doll Dubai, shared his two cents regarding the incident and said that a lizard cannot have a “soft” texture after getting baked at 200 degrees in the oven.
