Illegal Reinstatement of Dismissed Officers Under Scrutiny

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of the illegal reinstatement of several officers previously dismissed for corruption from the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO).

A high-level committee has been formed to investigate the matter, focusing on allegations that the LESCO management reinstated these officials in exchange for bribes and engaged in questionable procurement deals.

The committee will also review issues related to illegal electrification and other alleged malpractices within the company. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to combating corruption and ensuring transparency in public sector organizations.
