Apple Launches First Touchscreen MacBook Pro: Price, Specs and Release Date

touchscreen MacBook Pro 2026

Apple has officially introduced the first touchscreen MacBook Pro, marking one of the biggest changes to the MacBook lineup in years.

The new 14-inch and 16-inch models feature Apple’s new PROLED XDR tandem-OLED display, M5 Pro or M5 Max processors, touchscreen controls and Dynamic Island.

Pre-orders opened on October 28, 2026, while retail availability begins on November 6.

Touch Comes to MacBook Pro

For the first time, users can interact directly with the MacBook display.

Apple says users can:

  • pinch to zoom;
  • drag and drop content;
  • interact directly with creative applications;
  • play software instruments onscreen; and
  • use touch alongside the keyboard and trackpad.

The touch sensor is integrated into the display panel rather than added as a separate layer.

Apple has redesigned the hinge to provide greater stability while users touch the screen.

The new MacBook Pro introduces what Apple calls:

It uses tandem OLED technology and supports:
