On March 14th at 8 PM, Asia Lions and India Maharajas will play in the fourth Legends League Cricket game, This is the second match between these two teams.

Asia Lions defeated the India Maharajas by a score of nine runs to win the LLC Masters’ opening match.

Key Information of the first match

Asia Lions first inning:

The Asia Lions earlier decided to bat first after winning the toss. Ashok Dinda and Irfan Pathan, the opening bowling duo for the India Maharajas, got off to a fast start by quickly removing Tillakaratne Dilshan for 5 runs and Asghar Afghan for 1 run off of 2 balls. The two dismissals gave the innings some pace until Misbah-ul-Haq entered the field. Misbah found his rhythm when he blasted Stuart Binny for six over mid-wicket and then added a four from Dinda in the over after. The Lions’ position was 45/2 at the conclusion of the powerplay.

To his relief, Binny overstepped, giving Upul Tharanga a reprieve as he was trying to find any timing at all when he chipped one directly to Suresh Raina in the covers. On the opposite side, Misbah carried on as usual, scoring runs at will. The score was 83/2 at the midway point.
There was little change when the final ten overs began. Upul Tharanga was given another chance to score freely while having difficulty doing so when Stuart Binny dropped a catch off of Harbhajan’s bowling. Misbah reached his first fifty off 35 balls at the start of the 13th over.

India Maharajas, second inning:

The India Maharajas got off to a terrible start as Robin Uthappa scooped one off Sohail Tanvir’s bowling with the score at zero. The first over ended up being a debut over. It was up to Gautam Gambhir and Murali Vijay to consolidate after losing the opening wicket. Tanvir’s second over featured two fours from Gambhir, who also looked on-point with his timing as he began the opening phase. At the conclusion of the powerplay, the score was 49/1 thanks to the sustained excellence of Gambhir and Vijay.

Vijay lost his wicket holding out in the deep off the bowling of Tillakaratne Dilshan just after the powerplay. Gambhir played some beautiful strokes, but Suresh Raina, the replacement batter, didn’t trouble the scorers and was caught behind off the bowling of Thisara Perera after scoring only three runs. Gambhir continued to bat as the captain and reached fifty in the thirteenth over. Immediately after, he attempted to hit Razzaq’s full-toss for a six but was caught by Perera, finishing with a score of 54 off 39 balls. Yusuf Pathan, the batsman after him, began to light things up, but Sohail Tanvir stopped him as he cleaned him up. Kaif also attempted to speed up to stay within touching distance of the necessary run rate, but he got stuck in.

Stuart Binny was run out for only eight runs with two overs left to play and the Maharajas needing 25 runs to win. Irfan Pathan was bowled by Tanvir for 19 runs after striking a six. Finally, the tail had too much to do, and the Maharajas could only gather 156-8.

Tanvir was the standout player for the Lions, picking up 3/27 of the ball in his four.
