On 5 October, there would be an electrifying cricket festival at Fed Square by Cricket Australia. Starting at 3pm, the event would see legendary cricketers like Younis Khan, Glenn Maxwell, and Damien Fleming appear before the always eager crowd who seek to come close to cricketing heroes.
This festival will provide much scope for fan interaction with meet-and-greets, autograph signings, and photographs with the Men’s and Women’s World Cup Trophies. The event will also host hot shots by Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, former Pakistani captain Younis Khan, and ex-fast bowler Damien Fleming. Fans will also be treated to appearances by Victorian Captain Will Sutherland and Australian Women’s U19 cricketer Hasrat Gill.
The event will engage multicultural cricket fans interested in international and Big Bash League matches played in Melbourne. Besides that, on-stage panel interviews by the cricket stars and performances by drummers, dancers, and a DJ will spice up the gala. Families and kids can enjoy cricket activities, including sign-ups for the Woolworths Cricket Blast targeted at enthusiastic young cricket fans aged 5-12 years.
Cricket Australia’s Multicultural Ambassadors will also be there to evangelize the game’s values of diversity and inclusiveness. This is said to be an affair more suited to children, with Big Bash League mascots, inflatables, as well as plenty of prizes and giveaways for entertainment. The function runs for three hours and ends at 6pm.
