from Rs56.28 billion a year earlier.

The higher EPS reflects the strong increase in quarterly profitability.

Rs5 Per Share Dividend Announced

OGDC’s board declared an interim cash dividend of:

Rs5 per share

equivalent to:

50% of the face value of the share.

The company said this is the highest first-quarter dividend it has ever declared.

Shareholders whose names appear in the company’s register on November 10, 2026 will qualify for the payout.

OGDC’s share transfer books will remain closed from November 11 through November 12.

OGDC’s financial position has also strengthened considerably.

At September 30, the company reported:

Other financial assets: Rs325.82 billion

and

Cash and bank balances: Rs39.71 billion.

Together, these amount to approximately:

Rs365.53 billion.

Market analysis cited by ProPakistani described this as a record level of cash and short-term investments, compared with approximately Rs222 billion a year earlier.

It is therefore more accurate to describe the Rs365.5 billion figure as cash plus short-term financial investments, rather than cash alone.

OGDC reported:

Rs13.77 billion

in finance and other income during the quarter, compared with:

Rs12.18 billion

in Q1 FY26.

Income generated from the company’s growing investment and cash position provided additional support to earnings.

Rs4.77 billion

from:

Rs3.08 billion

during the same quarter last year.

Despite the increase in exploration spending, stronger revenue and gross profit allowed overall earnings to grow substantially.

The company generated:

Rs90.70 billion

in cash from operations before major payments.

After royalty, taxes, employee benefits and Workers’ Profit Participation Fund payments, net cash generated from operating activities stood at:

That represents a significant improvement in underlying operating cash generation.

OGDC continued to carry substantial trade receivables.

Trade debts stood at approximately:

Rs595.59 billion

at September 30, compared with Rs594.85 billion at the end of June 2026.

The size of energy-sector receivables remains an important consideration when evaluating the company’s financial position.

Investment in Energy Projects

During the quarter, OGDC also continued investing in strategic energy projects.

Market analysis cited an additional Rs5 billion investment connected with Reko Diq and PIOL, significantly higher than the amount invested during the corresponding period last year.
