Pasban Remittance Reward Scheme Starts: Eligibility, Prizes and First Draw Explained
Pakistan’s new Pasban Remittance Reward Scheme has formally entered its qualifying period from October 1, giving people who receive overseas remittances through participating banks an opportunity to enter quarterly cash-prize draws.
The programme has been introduced by the banking industry under the Pakistan Banks Association with the patronage of the State Bank of Pakistan. Banks are funding the scheme, which carries Rs16 billion in annual prizes.
Who Is Eligible for Pasban Rewards?
A beneficiary must receive home remittances equivalent to at least US$100 in each month for three consecutive months within the quarter into an eligible personal bank account or wallet.
There is no separate application or registration process. Eligible entries are generated automatically from qualifying banking data.
For the first draw, that means qualifying remittances need to be received during October, November and December 2026.
How Do Pasban Draw Entries Work?
Every eligible US$100 amount generates draw entries.
The official scheme explains that someone receiving US$100 in October, US$200 in November and US$300 in December would obtain one, two and three entries respectively, giving the beneficiary six entries for the quarter.
The dedicated scheme portal further states that entries are calculated per US$100 of eligible remittance, with qualifying amounts rounded according to the scheme rules.
How Much Can You Win?
Each quarterly draw will distribute Rs4 billion among 2,521 winners.
| Prize | Winners | Prize per winner |
| First Prize | 1 | Rs100 million |
| Second Prize | 20 | Rs25 million |
| Third Prize | 100 | Rs10 million |
| Fourth Prize | 2,400 | Rs1 million |
The four quarterly draws together make up the scheme’s announced Rs16 billion annual prize pool.
When Is the First Pasban Draw?
The first draw is scheduled for January 15, 2027.
It will cover eligible remittances received between October 1 and December 31, 2026. Remittances received before October 1 are not included in the first qualifying quarter.
Do You Have to Buy a Ticket?
No.
Participation is free and automatic for eligible beneficiaries. Banks cannot charge a participation fee, require a ticket purchase or demand a minimum balance simply for joining the draw.
This distinction is important because fraudsters could potentially use the publicity around large prizes to demand payments from people claiming they have won.
The official scheme says it will never ask winners for a fee, PIN or password in order to release a prize.
Which Remittances Do Not Qualify?
Cash collected over a bank counter is excluded; qualifying funds must be credited to an eligible bank account or wallet.
Roshan Digital Account inflows are also excluded, as are company accounts. Employees, officers and directors associated with participating banks, PBA, 1LINK and SBP are excluded under the scheme rules.
Which Banks Are Participating?
The official Pasban portal currently lists 26 participating banks, including Allied Bank, Bank Alfalah, Bank AL Habib, Bank of Punjab, BankIslami, Easypaisa Digital Bank, Faysal Bank, HBL, JS Bank, MCB, Meezan Bank, NBP, Standard Chartered, UBL and others.
Beneficiaries should confirm their bank’s participation through the official Pasban portal or their bank before relying on a transaction for eligibility.
How Will Winners Be Informed?
The scheme says the beneficiary’s bank will contact successful winners.
Results will also be announced publicly, while prize money will be credited to the winner’s bank account after verification and deduction of any taxes required under applicable law.
