Can Pakistani Students Apply?

Yes.

The scholarships are open to international students, and the official call does not exclude Pakistan.

Pakistani candidates can therefore compete for the awards provided they:

  • apply for the first year of an eligible Master of Science programme;
  • select an English-taught programme covered by the scholarship;
  • complete the admission application during the required Early Bird period;
  • pay the application fee by the required deadline; and
  • submit the separate scholarship application.

These are merit-based scholarships, so applying does not guarantee selection.

Important Eligibility Requirement: Apply for Admission First

Students cannot simply submit a scholarship form without first applying to Politecnico di Milano.

To enter the scholarship competition, international students must have submitted their admission application and paid the relevant fee between:

October 1 and December 1, 2026.

The university’s Early Bird admission fee is:

€50

for applications submitted by December 1.

Applications submitted in later admission rounds are not eligible for this particular merit-scholarship call.

Scholarship Application Deadline

The separate scholarship application period runs from:

October 1, 2026

until:

December 15, 2026 at 12:00 noon Italian time.

This creates two important deadlines:

December 1, 2026

Complete the eligible Master’s admission application and application-fee payment.

December 15, 2026

Submit the separate merit-scholarship application.

Students should not confuse the two dates.

How to Apply for Politecnico di Milano Scholarship 2027

The process has two main stages.

Step 1: Apply for a Master of Science Programme

Register through Politecnico di Milano’s Online Services.

Select an eligible English-taught Master of Science programme and complete the admission application.

Students may apply for up to two Master of Science programmes during an application round.

Step 2: Pay the Early Bird Application Fee

For scholarship eligibility, pay the application fee by:

December 1, 2026.

The Early Bird application fee is €50.

Step 3: Submit the Scholarship Application

After submitting the Master’s admission application, access Politecnico di Milano Online Services.

The university identifies the scholarship section under:

Benefits and Agreements → Economic Benefits → Scholarships for International Master of Science Students a.y. 2027–2028

Submit the form before noon Italian time on December 15.

English Language Requirement

Applicants need valid evidence of English-language proficiency.

Politecnico di Milano states that a valid language certificate must be submitted by:

March 4, 2027

to be considered for the merit scholarship.

Applicants should check the university’s current language-requirement page for the accepted tests and scores applicable to their programme and test date.

How Are Scholarship Winners Selected?

These are competitive merit-based awards.

The university says selection takes into account:

  • previous education;
  • compatibility of the applicant’s academic background with the chosen Master’s programme;
  • documents submitted with the admission application;
  • scholarship application;
  • GPA;
  • other academic achievements; and
  • portfolio where required.

The official call also states that the selection commission takes into account factors including geographic origin, gender balance and age, while younger applicants receive priority in the event of a tie.

When Will Scholarship Results Be Announced?

The university says outcomes will be communicated through the email address supplied with the admission application approximately:

three to four months after the scholarship deadline.

Recipients then need to formally accept the scholarship and complete the required administrative-fee payment within the deadline stated in their award email.

Is It a Fully Funded Scholarship?

It is better not to describe every award simply as “fully funded.”

All 64 merit scholarships include a tuition-fee waiver, but the living allowance differs considerably.

Platinum recipients receive up to €10,000 gross, Gold recipients receive €5,000 or €8,000, Bronze recipients receive €2,500, while Silver recipients receive no separate cash allowance.

Students should therefore calculate their remaining accommodation, food, travel, visa and everyday living expenses before accepting an offer.

Can the Scholarship Be Renewed?

Yes.

The official call says scholarships awarded for 2027–28 can be renewed for the 2028–29 academic year, provided recipients meet the required academic-performance conditions and remain in the same Master of Science programme.

For renewal, the university applies a points calculation based on examination grades and ECTS credits.

Platinum recipients need a higher academic threshold than Gold, Bronze and Silver recipients.

Can You Hold Another Scholarship at the Same Time?

Generally, no.

The university states that its Merit Based International Scholarship is incompatible with other scholarships awarded by Politecnico di Milano or other public or private organisations, except specified international-mobility benefits.

Students awarded another incompatible scholarship may have to choose which benefit they want to keep.
