Gunshots fired outside Salman Khan’s residence

Gunfire rang out near Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence in the early hours of Sunday morning, sending shockwaves through the neighborhood. Two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle unleashed a barrage of five rounds into the air before swiftly vanishing from the scene. Mumbai Police, suspecting the involvement of Lawrence Bishnoi gang members, have launched a thorough investigation into the incident.

Heightened security measures are now in place after CCTV footage captured the culprits fleeing the scene. One live round was recovered, matching the confirmation of a foreign pistol used in the shooting. The tension escalated as a bullet struck Khan’s first-floor apartment during the chaos.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reached out to Khan following the alarming event, expressing solidarity and promising swift action. Khan, a reported top target on Bishnoi’s hit list since his 1998 black buck hunting incident, has been under increased surveillance. Sampat Nehra, a Bishnoi associate arrested last year, was found monitoring Khan’s movements for a potential attack.

The incident has reignited concerns about Khan’s safety, with previous threats prompting Mumbai Police to upgrade his security status to Y+. International implications also surfaced when an Indian student in the UK allegedly sent threatening emails to Khan, resulting in a lookout circular being issued.

As the investigation unfolds, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) continues to monitor the situation closely, recognizing the significance of Khan’s past actions in relation to the Bishnoi community.
