Urea Prices Increase Again as FFC Raises Sona Fertilizer Rates by Rs. 54 Per Bag

Urea Prices Increase Again as FFC Raises Sona Fertilizer Rates by Rs. 54 Per Bag

Farmers across Pakistan are facing another increase in fertilizer costs after Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) announced a fresh Rs. 54 per bag hike in the prices of all Sona Urea variants. The latest adjustment follows a Rs. 50 per bag increase introduced by Engro Fertilizers just one day earlier.

According to market research reported by Topline Research on November 7, 2026, the revised prices have increased the maximum retail rates of Sona Urea products in the local market.

Following the latest adjustment, the maximum retail price of Sona Urea Prilled has reached Rs. 4,579 per bag, while Sona Urea Granular is now priced at Rs. 4,803 per bag.

The consecutive increases by two major fertilizer manufacturers have brought renewed attention to rising agricultural input costs in Pakistan. Urea is one of the most widely used fertilizers in the country and plays an important role in supporting crop growth and agricultural productivity.

Engro and FFC Announce Fresh Urea Price Hikes

Before FFC’s latest announcement, Engro Fertilizers increased its urea price by Rs. 50 per bag on November 6, 2026.

According to channel checks reported by JS Research, the adjustment took Engro’s dealer transfer price to Rs. 4,585 per bag. The latest increase also follows an earlier Rs. 150 per bag price hike announced by the company in March 2026.

With both companies announcing higher prices within consecutive days, farmers may face additional financial pressure when purchasing fertilizers for upcoming agricultural activities.

The latest developments have also highlighted the importance of fertilizer pricing for Pakistan’s agriculture-based economy. Farmers depend on fertilizers such as urea to maintain soil productivity and achieve better crop yields.

Any increase in fertilizer prices can affect cultivation expenses, particularly for farmers managing large agricultural areas. Higher input costs may also influence decisions regarding fertilizer purchases and overall farm management.

Impact on Farmers and Agriculture

Urea provides nitrogen, an essential nutrient required for healthy plant development. It is commonly used in the cultivation of major crops, including wheat, rice, cotton and sugarcane.

As a result, changes in urea prices can have a direct impact on farming expenses across different agricultural regions of Pakistan.

The latest increases by FFC and Engro are particularly important for farmers who purchase fertilizer in large quantities. Even a relatively small increase per bag can add considerably to total production costs when multiple bags are required for a single crop cycle.

Farmers will likely continue monitoring fertilizer prices as they plan their agricultural spending. The latest market adjustments have once again placed fertilizer affordability under the spotlight.

With Sona Urea Prilled reaching Rs. 4,579 per bag and Sona Urea Granular rising to Rs. 4,803, the market will be closely watched for any further changes in fertilizer prices.
