Alphabet Inc’s Google has announced that it is going to delete all inactive accounts with no activity in the last two years. The company said this move is important to prevent security risks including hacks.
The announcement was made on Tuesday where the company said that from December it would start removing accounts with no recent sign in history.
Not only this, the content available in those accounts including Gmail, Docs, Drive, Meet and Calendar, alongwith YouTube and Google Photos will also be deleted.
The revised policy is only applicable on personal accounts and not on business or other organizations’ accounts.
In 2020, Google announced to delete content available in inactive accounts, however, it said said it would not remove the account.
Google intends to send multiple notifications to the account address and the recovery email before finally deleting an inactive account.
