A recent study by Clinical Cardiology revealed that people who suffer from insomnia are at a higher risk of heart attack.

According to the study, people who spend sleepless nights are 69% more likely to have a heart attack compared to those who sleep peacefully at night.

The study was conducted by a team of qualified experts with the help of data extracted from 1,226 studies and 1,184,256 individuals having an average age of 52, among which 13% had sleep disorders.

During the nine years of studies, it was observed that 2,406 people with insomnia suffered from heart attacks. There were also 12,398 people with no history of insomnia who fell into this category.

The study also revealed that people who get five or less sleep at night are at a higher risk of heart failure.

Moreover, people having insomnia and diabetes had twice the chances of having a heart attack compared to those without these conditions.

When it comes to sleep disorders, insomnia is the most common type. A healthy lifestyle and balanced diet can help regulate the sleep pattern.
