University Teacher Fired for Asking Objectionable Question

A lecturer from Comsats University Islamabad (CUI) was sacked for asking an “objectionable” question in an English composition quiz on the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (BEE) program.

In a letter to the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), the CUI administration mentioned that an inquiry had been initiated about the content of the quiz.

It was also written in the letter that the University administration had already taken action, and have terminated the services of visiting faculty lecturer. The termination was effective from January 5, 2023 and the lecture had been blacklisted.

The university students were “shocked” when they saw the question asking them to write 300 words on the given topic.

Naveed Ahmed Khan, Additional Registrar said that when the lecturer was called for an explanation, he admitted his mistake and confessed that “he had plagiarized the question from Google”, he added. After this, the quiz was retaken.

Pak Suzuki Sales Hit Hard by Recent Economic Downturn

According to sources, police officials in large number were present near the residence of Imran Khan. The entry and exit points to and from the area were also sealed with the help of barricades.

Imran Khan demands investigation into alleged constitutional and oath violations by former COAS General Bajwa

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has called for an investigation into alleged constitutional and oath violations by the country’s former COAS General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa. Khan, in a letter addressed to President Arif Alvi and shared on social media, accused Bajwa of repeatedly violating his oath of office during his tenure as COAS. He specifically referenced Bajwa’s alleged admission to a journalist that he considered Khan a danger to the country and violation of Khan’s fundamental human rights.

Khan also cited Bajwa’s supposed interference in the corruption case of former finance minister Shaukat Tarin, the alleged recording of confidential conversations between Bajwa and Khan, and Bajwa’s public criticism of the then-position governments’ neutrality in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

According to Khan, only the electorate, through elections, has the power to select a candidate for prime minister, and Bajwa’s alleged actions represented clear violations of his oath under the Constitution. Khan called on President Alvi to exercise his duty as Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces to investigate the allegations and establish whether such grave violations had occurred.
